The Change has Come!

If you haven’t been aware of it yet, the system of education in the Philippines has been changed to K-12.

I am not currently a teacher but my husband is, so obviously he has to make changes in his teaching. In the previous years, he was teaching 2nd year high school Biology but with the change he is now teaching Grade 8 Science beginning last June!ย What does this mean to my husband and to other 2nd year high school Science teachers?

As a teacher of Grade 8 Science, my husband now teaches Physics, Chemistry, Earth Science and Biology in one school year! Whew! What a challenge! My husband, like his fellow teachers, had to undergo training to be able to make the teaching adjustments. Thank God that he has been able to make the needed changes in his teaching and yes, with all the additional effort on his part ๐Ÿ™‚

Needing a Laptop

It was not until 2008 when I got my own laptop. By that time, I really needed one for my job as my work then also included traveling. It was bought outside the country (Australia) and yes, I was glad to have it ๐Ÿ™‚ ย And I would have to say that back then I could not afford buying this laptop model by myself. Thank God for His unexpected provision, finally it was bought at just the right time ๐Ÿ™‚

By last year, there was already some “wear and tear” on my ASUS A8e laptop. And so I considered getting a new one. And surprise, surprise! My latest laptop is a gift! But that newer laptop also deserves another post ๐Ÿ™‚ Below is a photo of my old ASUS laptop ๐Ÿ™‚

Of Days and Chocolates

It’s the first day of the month of July and I can not help but write a post, just to remind myself that it’s a new month. I always feel that the beginning of the month is somewhat special. And sometimes I would ย even say that it’s my favorite day in any given month ๐Ÿ™‚

Speaking of favorites, a couple of posts ago, I mentioned that my US-based sister sent the hubby and me some packages. And was I glad that among the contents were boxes of chocolate ๐Ÿ™‚ ย But hands down, my favorite among them is still Hersheys. I loved it then and I love it now. And I wouldn’t mind getting some more again ๐Ÿ™‚

Up for a Ride

Just for fun one evening, my husband and I decided to check out some rides available in the city carnival here in Butuan City, Philippines.

I kept looking up at the cable rides and then finally asked my husband that we should try them. Well, to be honest, when we were up there, I didn’t feel that safe ๐Ÿ™‚ ย I thought like we were going to fall any minute. But then I told myself to just enjoy it while it last. Well, we did survive ๐Ÿ™‚ That’s why here I am writing a post about it. I would still like to try another cable ride in another part of the country, in another part of the world some time ๐Ÿ™‚
