Of Hobbies and New Careers

Sometimes, our hobbies can blossom into part-time work or even a full-time career. And I think this can be really good. After all, isn’t it said that when you love what you do, it’s like you never have to work at all for the rest of your life. And hobbies are something we enjoy doing.

Some hobbies that can lead you towards some earning include: photography, singing, playing musical instruments, writing or blogging , painting, drawing, cooking. And I am sure you can even think of more.

There is even a great advantage now that we can all easily connect through the internet. It’s easier to find some gigs like in the fields of writing and of course, blogging and even for photography. In the field of photography for instance, there are sites where you can upload your photos and sell them there. Isn’t that cool?

I also have to add that of course, as a hobby of ours become interesting enough for others (enough for them to pay for our performance, service or product), we need to take it to another level. We aim to develop it more as a skill πŸ™‚

If you are reading this and you are in the midst of a career slump, faint not. Take stock of your hobbies and skills. Maybe there’s a new career path waiting for you πŸ™‚

Up for a Ride

Just for fun one evening, my husband and I decided to check out some rides available in the city carnival here in Butuan City, Philippines.

I kept looking up at the cable rides and then finally asked my husband that we should try them. Well, to be honest, when we were up there, I didn’t feel that safe πŸ™‚ Β I thought like we were going to fall any minute. But then I told myself to just enjoy it while it last. Well, we did survive πŸ™‚ That’s why here I am writing a post about it. I would still like to try another cable ride in another part of the country, in another part of the world some time πŸ™‚

The Hot Weather and The Malls

It’s been too hot in this part of the world with temperatures seemingly eager to push 40 degrees Celsius. It has made me think about snow, the beach and the malls.

You might wonder why I would be thinking about malls. It’s simply because it’s cool inside and there are many cool shops to wander around, not to mention some shopping that could be done there as well. Don’t forget, of course, the cinemas and the ice cream shops πŸ™‚

As of this time, there is an ongoing construction of a bigger mall in my city. I have been told that the mall is set to open within the latter part of the year. Now, I think that’s a bit of good news. It means more malls to explore, more places to help distract me from the hot, hot weather πŸ™‚

Time for a Pet

As I was walking down the street today heading to a bank for a transaction, I read a banner by the side of the road. It was announcing a sale of aquariums in a store just a few meters from it.

For a moment, I stopped on my tracks. I was contemplating whether I should go to that store and check out the aquariums. You see, I can only count 2 animals that I would really consider having as a pet. And one of that is the pretty fish πŸ™‚

I grew up with the presence of fishes and an aquarium in the house. It wasn’t always the same aquarium since my parents would then buy a newer one and give away the older aquarium to some neighbor or friend. But I’ve always enjoyed feeding the fishes as well as cleaning the aquarium.

I left home when I was 18 for university studies in another city. But that was just the beginning. I have since moved to quite a number of houses, places (including to another country and back) and only got settled really when I married at 37. And now, I am reminded to get my own aquarium πŸ™‚ Β Perhaps it’s time to get a pet again.
