For Breakfast or Dessert

One of my favorite desserts is a kind of steamed rice known as puto which is made in the Philippines.

I am no expert in making puto but I do love to eat it 🙂  One can eat it with butter or margarine but I think it’s also good with cheese. It can also be eaten at breakfast with your favorite hot chocolate drink. Some Filipinos would love to eat it with a native dish called dinuguan (a kind of stew with pork blood).

These tasty rice cakes are usually sold by vendors near schools or offices. It is also available at a good price in the local market. My husband bought some for me lately. The ones he got were specially made by the mother of one of his co-teachers. Below are the precious putos that my husband bought for me. Would you like to have one for breakfast or for dessert? 🙂

Craving for Pizza

Just had the chance to look through my files of photos on my computer and found this shot. From time to time, I do like to take shots of food, not just because I blog but to remind me how much I enjoyed this or that particular dish, cake and yes, pizza!

It’s been several weeks that the hubby and I have gotten any pizza. And unfortunately, our last experience was not a very nice one that time. The service of that pizza place was quite bad (although they are quite a popular place in the Philippines). Anyhow, I would still love to have my share of pizza every now and then, and that could mean choosing other pizza places. But for now, here’s a pizza shot for us all, pizza lovers 🙂

Of Days and Chocolates

It’s the first day of the month of July and I can not help but write a post, just to remind myself that it’s a new month. I always feel that the beginning of the month is somewhat special. And sometimes I would  even say that it’s my favorite day in any given month 🙂

Speaking of favorites, a couple of posts ago, I mentioned that my US-based sister sent the hubby and me some packages. And was I glad that among the contents were boxes of chocolate 🙂  But hands down, my favorite among them is still Hersheys. I loved it then and I love it now. And I wouldn’t mind getting some more again 🙂
