One of my favorite desserts is a kind of steamed rice known as puto which is made in the Philippines.
I am no expert in making puto but I do love to eat it 🙂 One can eat it with butter or margarine but I think it’s also good with cheese. It can also be eaten at breakfast with your favorite hot chocolate drink. Some Filipinos would love to eat it with a native dish called dinuguan (a kind of stew with pork blood).
These tasty rice cakes are usually sold by vendors near schools or offices. It is also available at a good price in the local market. My husband bought some for me lately. The ones he got were specially made by the mother of one of his co-teachers. Below are the precious putos that my husband bought for me. Would you like to have one for breakfast or for dessert? 🙂
